The Government of Punjab has officially announced the Punjab Student Bike Scheme 2026, introducing a major initiative aimed at supporting students with affordable transportation. Under the program, the government will distribute 19,000 petrol bikes and 8,179 electric bikes to eligible students across the province.
The student-friendly scheme is part of the Punjab government’s broader efforts to improve access to education and reduce transportation barriers faced by university and college students. The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of young learners, particularly those who travel long distances to attend educational institutions.
Students enrolled in recognized colleges and universities can apply online through the official registration portal. The scheme offers easy installment plans, making it easier for students from diverse backgrounds to own a bike and continue their education without transportation challenges.

The introduction of electric bikes also reflects Punjab’s commitment to promoting eco-friendly mobility and reducing environmental pollution. By encouraging the use of electric vehicles, the government aims to build a greener and more sustainable future.
If the number of applications exceeds the available quota, a transparent computerized balloting process may be conducted. Selected candidates will be notified through SMS, email, or the official portal.
The balloting system ensures fairness and equal opportunity for all eligible applicants.
The Punjab Student Bike Scheme 2026 is a significant step toward improving educational accessibility and youth empowerment in Punjab. By offering 19,000 petrol bikes and 8,179 electric bikes, the government is helping students overcome transportation challenges while promoting sustainable mobility solutions.
