Govt Approves Rs. 9 Billion Subsidy for E-Bikes Under PAVE Phase 2 – Eligibility, Benefits & Apply Process

The Government of Pakistan has approved a Rs. 9 billion subsidy package under PAVE Phase 2 to promote electric mobility across the country. The initiative aims to make electric bikes, rickshaws, and loaders more affordable while reducing fuel imports and environmental pollution. The second phase of the program introduces several improvements over the previous rollout.

The Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification (PAVE) program operates under the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Policy 2025–30 and is designed to increase the adoption of electric vehicles in Pakistan. The scheme offers government subsidies and easy financing options for eligible applicants.

Unlike Phase 1, the latest phase follows a first-come, first-served model instead of balloting. The subsidy is deducted directly from the vehicle price, making it easier for citizens to purchase electric bikes without waiting for reimbursement.

The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of citizens by lowering transportation costs and supporting Pakistan’s transition toward clean energy. Electric vehicles also help reduce dependence on imported petroleum products and lower carbon emissions.

The government has also partnered with banks and financial institutions to provide installment plans, making electric vehicles accessible to a larger segment of the population.

The approval of the Rs. 9 billion subsidy under PAVE Phase 2 marks a major step toward electric mobility in Pakistan. By offering subsidies, easy financing, and a transparent application process, the government aims to accelerate EV adoption while supporting sustainable transportation and economic growth. Eligible citizens are encouraged to apply early to benefit from the program.
